These sweet friends enjoy a snuggle on the beach! Created for a 1910 postcard promoting the seaside resort town of Eastbourne, a popular tourist destination for English Victorians, this charming scene was titled Love Tails by its artist, William Henry Ellam. Indeed, its love tells a tale of friendship across time!

William Henry Ellam (1858–1935) was a British painter and sculptor primarily celebrated for his postcard art. Although details of his life are scarce, he left behind a vast collection of postcards bearing his legible signature, making his work easily recognizable and credited to him. He often depicted charming seaside scenes, created women's suffrage cards, and crafted a whimsical series for Raphael Tuck & Sons featuring animal couples enjoying breakfast in bed.
